Warren Central softball team has their best season in years

        The Warrior softball team is going into sectionals with a 10 -13 record. The team played a tough schedule but has improved with each game. 

      “We are improving because we practice with a purpose, and we have an amazing coaching staff,” said senior Shelbie Stotts. 

        The practice and dedication to the game has paid off as the Warriors have competed with some of the best teams around Indiana.

       After a tough season last year, the girl’s softball team is looking to be more successful this spring. With a new head coach and a good start to the season, players hope to win more games and come together as family. 

     “As a team, our mentality is changing from doubtful to hopeful,” senior pitcher and shortstop Shelbie Stotts said. “There’s a lot more positivity and team players.” 

       The team is 2-3 in the season so far, with a win against Eastern Hancock and Perry Meridian.

Softball finish season, move on to Sectionals

It has been a long season for the Warrior softball team, but one they can be proud of.

Although end-game results were not exactly what the girls ha in mind, finishing fourth in a very tough MIC conference is a huge accomplishment for the team and something head coach Leah Prewitt mentioned as a highlight for their year.

Softball team starts strong, struggles to find consistency

Playing four to five games a week is tough, and it can take its toll on a team. The Warrior softball team is feeling that toll first hand.

In their second week of regular season, they played six games in five days with two of those days being double headers. With so little time in between games to practice and rest, winning in these stretches comes down to not only physical toughness but mental toughness as well.
