Swim team dives into Sectionals

         The swim teams look to shift their focus toward working on racing and having no regrets. 

        “We are looking to keep our foot on the pedal and finish strong,” said senior Peter Drummond. The boys team has been heading into meets this season with only three seniors and four juniors, but the boys know that they can still rely on their younger swimmers.

Swim Team starts fresh with young swimmers

      The swim team is looking to start fresh and introduce a strong team of young swimmers and divers. Although both the girls and boys teams have experienced a shortage of swimmers, they won’t let that stop them.

     “We have many young swimmers who don’t know the Warrior Way yet,” said senior Peter Drummond.

     “As a team, we are working to build a culture by holding each other accountable in and out of the pool.”

With another long season in the books, and another State tournament meet complete, the boys swim team finished the season strong, far surpassing goals set by the coaching staff early on.

Boys/Girls Swimming Look Ahead to Sectionals

As their season draws to a close, the boys swim team is looking ahead to making a successful Sectional run next week. 

“Going into sectionals we will start tapering, which is a gradual coming down in training,” head coach John Sincroft said. “We will be swimming less yardage with more of an emphasis on racing and less on general conditioning.”

Chlorine is the breakfast of a champion.

The boys swim team season has finally begun, and the Warriors are attempting to push towards  wins.  Before their season approached, the boys had to go through a tough conditioning in order for them to be successful for their season. They performed workouts such as lifting weights and running laps.

"We definitely received a lot of training for us to be mentally and physically prepared for our season,” senior Ethan Park said.

On Saturday the boys swim team competed at Sectional finals held at North Central High School.

      With the stands full and the swimmers ready, the meet was underway. The 200 medley relay team placed 7th  with a time of 1:48.55 scoring 24 points for the Warriors. Leading off the relay was freshman Tyler Trumpy followed by seniors Mason Amos, Ernesto Cabrera and Jason Hester.

      For the first individual swim of the day, Trumpy swam an exciting 200 freestyle. Swimming a time of 1:52.59, he won the consolation heat by 2 seconds and dropped 4 seconds off of...

On Saturday the boys swim team competed at Sectional finals held at North Central High School.

With the stands full and the swimmers ready, the meet was underway. The 200 medley relay team placed 7th  with a time of 1:48.55 scoring 24 points for the Warriors. Leading off the relay was freshman Tyler Trumpy followed by seniors Mason Amos, Ernesto Cabrera and Jason Hester.

Swimmers set school record to end season

The lady Warriors finished their season off at the Sectional finals last Saturday. Senior Captains Paige Finnigan and Dessa Rollins both finished top eight in both of their events. Sophomore Kira Gibbs finished top eight in the 100 yard backstroke, additionally freshman Rayna Goodin placed top 16 in both of her events.
