This show follows Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), living idealized suburban lives in the town of Westview New Jersey without showing off their powers, but Wanda and Vision suspect that everything is not as it seems.

The suspicion starts in the first episode when Wanda and Vision have Vision’s boss and his wife over for dinner. When they are eating, the boss asks Wanda and Vision how they met, but the boss gets frustrated when they don’t answer and starts to choke on his food. When he is choking, his wife doesn’t do anything except say “stop it”  hysterically over and over again, without even reaching for him. So Wanda tells Vision to help. Vision uses his power to reach into him and takes out the food he was choking on. After that, the episode goes on as normal like nothing ever happened.

Each episode gets weirder and weirder by the second. In the second episode, Wanda went to a meeting for the town’s talent show. But, at the end of the meeting, Dottie (Emma Caulfield Ford), the lady who ran the meeting, asked Wanda to stay after to help her clean up and Wanda did. When Dottie was talking to Wanda, they heard someone over the radio ask “Wanda, Who is doing this to you, Wanda?” Then Dottie gets so overwhelmed and scared that she breaks a glass in her hand and starts bleeding. So Wanda rushes to get a cloth to clean up Dottie’s hand, but all Dottie does is say “Pop quiz Wanda, how does a housewife get a bloodstain out of white linen? By doing it herself.” and she goes on about her business as she did just cut herself.

While all of this is going on, there is one character in particular that is very important to the whole series, and that character Geraldine. Geraldine is a newcomer to the town and has no family or home and that is because she was sucked into this alternate reality that Wanda has created. Geraldine’s real name is Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and she is the daughter of Captain Maria Rambeau. These characters were both introduced to the MCU from the movie Captain Marvel. Monica's job is to find a Missing person with an FBI agent named Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) but when two police officers say that there is no such place as Westview, New Jersey, they know that there is a problem. So they call in the big guns, they get a team of S.W.O.R.D. agents and the army to deal with what is going on. They also call a team of scientists to help figure out what is going on and the only one that found something was Dr. Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings). She finds that there is a lot of CMBR “Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation” that dates back all the way to the big bang and that is why there is an alternate reality.

“WandaVision” originated from seven different comics in the Marvel universe. There is one of the comics that stands out from the rest. That comic is called “House of M,” which was written by Brian Michael Bendis. It explains how Wanda creates alternate versions of reality first where mutants are in charge of everything, and then where there are no mutants. While this show goes off of its own storyline and has its own characters, it goes through the decades with the most popular show of that decade. In the 50s, they did “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” 60s they did “Bewitched,” 70s “The Brady Bunch,” 80s “Growing Pains”, 90s “Malcolm in the Middle,” and 2000s both “The Office” and “Modern Family.”

This show is very important to the Whole MCU because, so far, there are three phases into the MCU and this show sets up the fourth phase. It is one of the best Marvel Shows they have ever done and because of this show, Marvel’s Next show “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” will have a great number of people watching it. Because of all of the detail they put into this show and all of the references, the show earns an 8/10. “WandaVision'' can be watched on Disney+.
