tyson vs paul

The notorious retired heavyweight boxer, Mike Tyson, lost in a boxing match to long-time social media star, Jake Paul, on Nov. 15. The fight was originally planned to be on July 20 but was postponed due to a medical scare on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles that Tyson endured. While Paul has only been boxing for four years, that did not stop him from challenging Tyson, one of his longtime favorites. In a quote, Paul stated that fighting Mike Tyson will be “payback” for being his longtime favorite boxer after Muhammad Ali. In my opinion, it seems like Paul did not have a real reason to fight Tyson. If they aren’t enemies then what would be the reason to challenge a retired boxer? What he stated sounded like an excuse to fight a 58 year-old without getting in trouble for it or to prove that he is the next upcoming boxer. Sophomore King Lossie said he thinks the fight was completely pre-planned.“I was excited in the beginning,” Lossie said. “I thought it would be really exciting until I realized that it was all scripted. I don't think there should be a rematch unless it's going to be a real fight instead of a scripted one otherwise it would just be pointless.”According to Lossie, Jake Paul was more dominant in the fight, but Mike Tyson gained money from the fight so it doesn’t matter that he lost.“You can tell by the way Tyson was moving toward the end that he was holding back all of his punches and not doing anything that he trained for,” he said.Mehki Fantroy, a senior at Warren, says he also feels the fight was scripted because of Tyson’s outfit during the fight, a tight jockstrap covering men wear to protect their private area.Fantroy also said Jake Paul should fight someone his own age like Ryan Garcia, an American professional boxer. In only four years, Jake Paul has knocked out a total of six boxers. He hoped to make Mike Tyson his seventh victim, but that did not play out. Although Paul beat Tyson, he did not knock him out during the fight. Mike Tyson originally got his nickname “Iron Mike” due to his vicious punches that led him to knock out a total of 44 of his opponents in his 20 years of boxing.“There should be a rematch under one condition, that it is not staged and Mike Tyson fights back instead of not putting in any effort against Jake Paul,” Fantroy said.In my opinion, Jake Paul should not have fought 58-year-old Mike Tyson. Prior to their fight planned for July, Tyson already had health complications which was the reason for the fight to be rescheduled for November. In addition to the fight not looking real, Jake Paul should box someone his own age. Mike Tyson has already retired from boxing 20 years ago and is just now coming back out of retirement to box a 27-year-old that had just gotten into boxing four years ago.
