Welcome back, Warriors, and Happy New Year! I hope this semester has started great for you all and that your winter break was full of holiday cheer. With less than a semester of the year left, I encourage you to work hard to pass your classes and to make the most of the rest of the school year.
I know that, for me, the first semester flew by, and it’s crazy to think that my fellow seniors and I only have one semester left in our high school journey. I’m sure this semester will be full of many life-changing decisions for us seniors, so whatever path you want to take, it starts here and now. For the rest of you, scheduling for next year is just around the corner, so you have decisions of your own to make. All of us are taking the next steps toward our future this semester, so let’s make the most of it.
In this issue, we are covering a variety of topics in our articles, including an editorial and news story on the vandalism that has been occurring in our bathrooms here at school, a column on the Minnesota ICE shootings and coverage of many winter sports as they approach their post-seasons, just to name a few.
With this being our first issue of 2026, my staff and I have worked hard to bring you the Owl, and we hope you enjoy it. We strive to improve after every issue and will only continue to get better the further we go. We are also continuing the Owl Scavenger Hunt in this issue, so make sure to find all the ice cream cones hidden throughout the paper once again. Just like last time, scan the QR code on the back cover and then fill out our Google form with the correct page numbers to win. And please feel free to give us any ideas and feedback you have for us. We make the Owl for you all and want to make it something you will want to read.
This is a new year and, therefore, serves as a reset of sorts for us all. The future is what you make of it, so go make it great and make it yours.
