For me, these past few months of the year have been packed with work, getting NHS hours, practices for golf, school work and, of course, working on this new issue of the Owl. This time of year is always a busy one for me, with golf thrown into my already busy schedule.
I’ve had many opportunities to take part in a variety of things over the past four years. Whether it was with golf, the Owl, bowling or NHS, to name a few, I was always involved in something. Those opportunities have allowed me to feel connected to the school and to the community.
Warren Central has more clubs and sports than I think we all realize, so I encourage everyone reading this to try something new and take part in a club or sport this spring. Warren has something for everyone; you just have to find that thing if you haven’t already.
Taking part in these activities is something that I’m definitely going to miss after I graduate later this spring. You don’t get the time back, so join a club, play a sport or find something you’re passionate about that makes school more enjoyable. High school isn’t only about homework and tests; it should also be about the bonds we create during the activities we take part in.
Once again, my staff and I have worked very hard to bring you this brand new issue of the Owl. We have columns on complex topics, coverage of recent music contests, previews of upcoming spring sports and more, all inside this very issue.
This issue, we have two writers taking on new roles as editors. Layla Calmes is our new Opinion Editor, and Joselyn Cirilo-Ramirez is our new Feature Editor. Along with that, we also have quite a few students from the Introduction to Journalism class taking part in this issue, so make sure you check out their hard work throughout the paper.
Similar to previous issues, we are continuing the Owl Scavenger Hunt, but once again we are changing it up. Instead of finding ice cream cones throughout the issue, be on the lookout for cameras hidden in the pages. There are five cameras for you to find, and the first 50 people to submit the Google Form with the correct page numbers will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a free 2025-2026 yearbook. That drawing will take place on March 13.
I hope you enjoy this issue of the Owl. With it being our last issue of quarter three, we only have two more editions coming out this school year. Time has really flown by. See you next issue!
