The story takes place in 1970s London, amidst the punk rock revolution, and follows a young grifter named Estella (Emma Stone). She is a clever and creative young girl who is determined to make her name in the fashion industry with her designs. She befriends a pair of thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and because of that, they build a life together on the streets of London. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly Haute, Baroness von Hellman (Emma Thompson). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable, and revenge-bent Cruella.

This movie is a prequel to “101 Dalmatians” but it will follow Cruella. Cruella de Vil is a major character in the Disney world, she is a cruel villain in the story 101 Dalmatians. In the stories, she would do whatever it takes to get what she wants even if she has to skin a puppy for a new coat. Cruella is very quick to state that she “lives for furs” and that she worships them. In the film 101 Dalmatians, the viewers can see that. She is wearing a brand new fur coat when the viewers first meet her, but she is always looking for the next best thing. For her, it means harming puppies for her own style, which consists of black and white apparel with red accents.

Stone will be playing the ambitious and aspiring fashion designer Cruella de Vil. Stone is also a big part of the production part of the movie. She also serves as an executive producer on the film alongside Glenn Close, who previously portrayed Cruella in the previous live-action adaptations, “101 Dalmatians” and “102 Dalmatians.” On-screen, Stone will be alongside Emma Thompson, who is best known for her role in Nanny McPhee as Nanny McPhee.

For viewers who love Disney movies and love backstories, watch the next big Disney movie, “Cruella.” This movie can be seen on May 28 on Disney+ for a fee of $29.99 or it can be seen in theaters on the same day.
